Thanks for sharing the benefits of Roots Magic and reasons you don’t store images there. You’ve made it clear that we must abandon the idea that any one tool can meet all our needs for creating and preserving our many projects.
You are welcome! Yes, we often need multiple strategies and figuring out workflows can be a challenge for many. I love sharing ways of streamlining this process!
You’ve actually hit the nail on the head. Many times as I’m adding yet another document to my Legacy Family Tree, I ask myself, will the family know how to find this image? I have it elsewhere, in, hopefully a well organised filing system, so why am I putting it in my database. They will surely prefer the stories I’ve been writing where I also include my documents and sources. I’ll be thinking twice before I add the next one. Thanks for your enlightening post.
I try to store my media in as many places as possible but my main one is my ancestry.com tree. This becomes a useful resource for me to remember what I have. I share what I have in my blog but it is slow progress to add posts. I look forward to learning about your approach and strategy.

Glad it resonated with you! The stories are indeed the lure that helps them get even more into your discoveries!
